I was watching my 9 year old daughter move and flip yesterday and here is my epiphany on what happens to so many people.
I am a kidI run, I jump, I climb trees and swing on monkey bars, I hit balls, I ride my bike. I move my body every way it was meant to be moved. I go to school. I go to uni. I no longer climb trees or swing on monkey bars (my range of movements decrease). I get a job. I work long hours – I sit a lot! I no longer run, jump, climb trees, swing on monkey bars or hit balls. |
I sit a lotStiffness in my body increases and I find it hurts to do certain things. Because of this I reduce my activities even more
I now watch my kids do the things I used to do. My stiffness increases. My sitting increases. My body shape changes. Stop this cycle – it doesn’t have to be like this! Take up the Pilates challenge. |
